(Oneida County, NY \u2013 Jan. 2013) Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County\u2019s Agriculture staff is preparing to kick off a winter series of group learning opportunities for local dairy producers called \u201cShop Meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n
The objective of the series, which will be hosted by local dairy producers and held in their heated workshops, is to keep Oneida County dairy producers informed of timely issues affecting their business, learn about helpful resources available at Cooperative Extension, and to encourage conversation\u00a0 and sharing amongst dairy producers.<\/p>\n
The first Shop Meeting is scheduled for Thursday Jan. 31 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. and will be held at John Collins\u2019 farm located at 8744 Thomas Road in Rome. Potential topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to, the extension of the 2008 Farm Bill, winter calf care, and feed inventories.<\/p>\n
There is no fee to attend the Shop Meeting, but reservations are appreciated by calling 736-3394 ext. 132.<\/p>\n
