That was the case Wednesday against ITC but Tuesday at Hannibal in the final match, all the pressure fell on the shoulders of sophomore Matt Bixby after a win by teammate Tyler Lewis, who rose to the occasion with a whopping 16-4 decision over of his opponent.<\/p>\n<p>That left the teams tied and the team winner had to be decided by dual meet tiebreaker criteria. After a lengthy consultation at the scorer\u2019s table, Chittenango was declared the victors based on the ninth level of criteria established for breaking a tie.<\/p>\n<p>Typical Tie Breaker Criteria for Dual Meets<\/p>\n<p>In dual-meet competition, if teams have identical scores, the following team tie-breaking system shall be used to determine the winner.<\/p>\n<p>1. Least number of team points deducted for flagrant or unsportsmanlike conduct.<\/p>\n<p>2. Greater number of matches won.<\/p>\n<p>3. Greater number of points for fall, defaults, forfeits or disqualifications.<\/p>\n<p>4. Greater number of points for technical falls.<\/p>\n<p>5. Greater number of points for major decisions.<\/p>\n<p>6. Greater number of first-points scored.<\/p>\n<p>7. Greater number of points for near-falls.<\/p>\n<p>8. Greater number of take-downs.<\/p>\n<p>9. Greater number of reversals.<\/p>\n<p>10. Greater number of escapes.<\/p>\n<p>11. Fewer penalties for stalling.<\/p>\n<p>12. Fewer stall warnings.<\/p>\n<p>13. Fewer number of points for other infractions.<\/p>\n<p>14.
