(New York State, NY \u2013 Jan. 2013) New York farmers always benefit from the \u201cbuy local\u201d movement, especially producers with direct ties to customers like restaurant owners or farm market patrons.<\/p>\n
But now a new project will encourage and help New York farmers market their products to Bed & Breakfast owners and their customers.<\/p>\n
Seven workshops will be held throughout New York State. These workshops are designed to bring together local B&B owners with local farmers with farm products for sale.<\/p>\n
Each Bed & Breakfast owner will take home a gift package that could include jams and jellies, processed meat and grain products, flowers and produce in-season, or any kind of product or information on agritourism or service from New York farms.<\/p>\n
And that is just the beginning! Once the workshops are complete, project coordinators will re-convene principal project collaborators, including the Empire State Bed & Breakfast Association, the NYS Small Scale Food Processors, NY-NOFA, and participating B&B owners and farmers to develop the next phase in building this marketing outlet.<\/p>\n

Monday, March 18\u00a0from 9 am-Noon at New York Wine & Culinary Ctr., 800 So. Main St., Canandaigua, NY. Register by March 11<\/p>\n
March 25\u00a0from 1:30-4:30 pm at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County, 21 South Grove St., East Aurora, NY. Register by March 18<\/p>\n
