Griffo (R-C-IP, Rome) was again named to serve\u00a0a Committee chair post by the New York State Senate Majority Coalition for the 2013 legislative session. Griffo has been selected to Chair the\u00a0Senate Banks Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The Banks Committee reviews legislation regarding the State\u2019s mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers, check cashers, money transmitters, budget planners, credit unions and similar providers of financial services.<\/p>\n<p>Griffo has also been named to the\u00a0Senate Finance Committee. The influential Finance Committee is considered one the busiest of the Senate\u2019s senior committees. It is in charge of reviewing the state budget and all legislation with a financial impact.<\/p>\n<p>Griffo was also named to fill posts on the following committees: Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business;\u00a0Crime Victims, Crime and Correction;\u00a0Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation;\u00a0Energy and Telecommunications; Higher Education;\u00a0Racing, Gaming and Wagering;\u00a0and\u00a0Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Albany, NY \u2013 Jan. 28, 2013) &#8211; Senator Joseph A.
