{"id":42336,"date":"2013-02-16T08:30:30","date_gmt":"2013-02-16T13:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=42336"},"modified":"2013-02-15T09:55:07","modified_gmt":"2013-02-15T14:55:07","slug":"youstories-a-national-conversation-brings-greek-drama-to-the-utica-public-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=42336","title":{"rendered":"YouStories: A National Conversation brings Greek Drama to the Utica Public Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Utica, NY \u2013 Feb. 2013) The Utica Public Library, in partnership with the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees, will host YouStories: A National Conversation.<\/p>\n<p>This six-part program that spotlights Greek Drama is free to the public and was made possible by the National Endowment for the Humanities, New York Council for the Humanities, and the Aquila Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>The program begins with three Reading Groups (Mar. 6th, 13, 27) that will be held at the MVRCR, 309 Genesee St. from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0Registration for the reading groups will be at the Utica Public Library.<\/p>\n<p>The three free classics, which will be given out at the library are Ajax,\u00a0Women of Trachis, and\u00a0Iphigenia at Aulis.<\/p>\n<p>The reading groups will be led by Professor Nancy Sorkin Rabinowitz.<\/p>\n<p>A lecture on Greek Drama will be presented on March 25\u00a0at 6:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>On March 26 the program will offer two events: a Classical Acting Workshop hosted by actors from the Aquila Theatre Company at 6 p.m, and a Staged Professional Reading by the Aquila actors at 7 p.m.\u00a0The workshop includes free pizza.\u00a0\u00a0The Lecture, Workshop, and Staged Reading will all be held at the Utica Public Library.<\/p>\n<p>Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in the program do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.<\/p>\n<p>For more information please call the library at 735-2279.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Utica, NY \u2013 Feb. 2013) The Utica Public Library, in partnership with the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees, will host YouStories: A National Conversation.
