Kendrick Ave., Hamilton.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, PCD staff will present the results of research conducted by the organization over the past year. Following the research presentation, Peter Fleischer, executive director of Empire State Future, will provide an expert analysis and interpretation of the data and speak on best practices for smart planning for residential growth, looking especially at how other communities have addressed similar challenges and opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the presentation, the floor will be opened up for community feedback, observation and comment.<\/p>\n<p>Fleischer holds a bachelor of arts from Harvard and a master\u2019s in business administration from the Yale School of Management. From 2003 to 2007, Peter was the senior vice president at the Empire State Development Corporation\u2019s Governors Island subsidiary. Prior to this, he was a Transportation and Environmental policy advisor to the New York City Mayor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>He also served as assistant commissioner for policy at the New York City Department of Transportation.\u00a0 Prior to his government service, Fleischer worked in strategic planning at Shearson Lehman American Express.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs part of the Greater Hamilton Economic Development Plan first developed by the PCD in 2007, we came to recognize that issues around housing were of great significance for our community,\u201d said PCD President Carl Albrecht. \u201cIn 2012, we conducted a five-year update of the plan and decided to dedicate more staff time analyzing the housing situation in greater depth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis presentation will provide members of the public an opportunity to see what we have found, to discuss the findings and to hear from an outside expert on how we can best plan, pro-actively, to maintain the strong quality of life and character of our community.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Partnership for Community Development News (Hamilton, NY &#8211; March 2013) The Partnership for Community Development, Hamilton\u2019s economic and community development organization, will hold a free public presentation on \u201cHousing in Hamilton\u201d March 6 at 7 p.m., at the Hamilton Central School, 47 W.
