{"id":43700,"date":"2013-03-19T11:30:04","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T15:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=43700"},"modified":"2013-03-19T10:45:17","modified_gmt":"2013-03-19T14:45:17","slug":"kelberman-center-hosts-annual-walk-for-autism-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=43700","title":{"rendered":"Kelberman Center Hosts Annual Walk for Autism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(March 2013) Autism now affects one out of every 88 children in the United States.\u00a0 Autism Awareness Month is celebrated throughout April and the Kelberman Center will host its annual Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 20 in Cooperstown, Oneida, Rome and Utica (registration time at 9 a.m. walk begins at 10 a.m. and also on Saturday, April 27 in Boonville and New Hartford (registration time at 10 a.m. walk begins at 11 a.m.).<\/p>\n<p>The Walk for Autism is the initiative of a group of parents heightening autism awareness in local communities and raising needed funds that will remain in Central New York. Family and friends are encouraged to join as parents, concerned citizens and advocates take steps towards increased awareness and more services for those with autism spectrum disorder.<\/p>\n<p>The walks take place at the following locations: Saturday, April 20 locations include Cooperstown Walk (Glimmerglass State Park), Oneida Walk (Oneida High School), Rome Walk (Rome Free Academy, Griffiss Business Park) and Utica Walk (Kelberman Center) and Saturday, April 27 locations include Boonville Walk (VFW) and New Hartford Walk (Recreation Center).
