\"Stephane+Wrembel+Trio\"<\/a>(Nelson, NY \u2013 March 2013) On April 5 Stephane Wrembel and his band will bring their French gypsy jazz to the stage of the Nelson Odeon at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Wrembel has been called \u201ca revelation\u201d by Rolling Stone. Woody Allen recruited him to score the theme to the 2012 Academy Award-winning film\u00a0Midnight in Paris, and he performed live during the 2012 Oscar\u2019s telecast.<\/p>\n

To say that French-born guitarist and composer\u2014who learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside\u2014has already had a remarkable career would be an understatement. One can’t listen to Wrembel’s music without thinking of the most famous Gypsy musician of them all, Django Reinhardt. “I listened to my first Django record, as a musician, when I was 19 or 20 \u2014 and I thought it was completely magic,” Wrembel says. “I heard notes that I never heard before. There was a complete, different, hidden language. And this istheir way of communicating; it’s a very subtle way, and a very poetic way, and a very spiritual way to communicate with each other with music.”<\/p>\n

This virtuoso, who is now Brooklyn-based, has truly just begun to make his mark as one of the most original guitar voices in contemporary music.<\/p>\n

About The Nelson Odeon<\/b><\/p>\n

In 2010, the historic Nelson Grange was converted into The Nelson Odeon, a small community-minded center for performances, nestled in the scenic rolling hills of Central New York.<\/p>\n
