<\/a>) Commander John J.\u00a0 Mott of the Cazenovia American Legion Post 88 has announced that William C. Snow is Post 88\u2019s candidate for the Department of New York\u2019s Legionnaire of the Year award. Each American Legion Post in New York State first submits their candidate to the county who decides what candidates will be evaluated by the district and finally by the state for this national award.<\/p>\n\u201cBill is in a very good position to win this award since he is very generous with his time in assisting our Post,\u201d Mott said. \u201cIf you ask him, he will offer his support in any way possible. He is a role model to our membership and he participates way above and beyond the call to duty. If anyone calls for help, Bill is a \u201cfirst responder.\u201d We are very grateful to Bill for his loyalty to Post 88.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is estimated that Snow spends on average three to four hours per week on post activities and needs in addition to his 100 percent attendance at monthly meetings and executive committee sessions. His officer position focuses on the post\u2019s finance and treasurer responsibilities of bookkeeping, budget preparation, tax filing and financial reporting. He has been a member of the American Legion for nine years.<\/p>\n
Sow also spends additional time in other post activities such as flag sales, poppies on Memorial Day, ball field maintenance and general electrical, carpentry and plumbing repairs to the Post Home.\u00a0 In 2012, Bill obtained the bids, approvals and supervised the replacement of the Post Home\u2019s roof.<\/p>\n
Bill and his wife Clarice reside on Damon Road in Erieville. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with various duty assignments in Frankfurt, Germany.<\/p>\n
