Campbell of the New York State Police and\u00a0Chief Deputy Dean Obernesser of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, announce the arrest of 37-year- old\u00a0Aweys K. Shakunda of 730 Noyes Street in\u00a0Utica for one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, and one count of second-degree Rape.<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that Shakunda sexually assaulted two separate victims over the course of a year.\u00a0 Shakunda was arrested on March 20 and arraigned in Utica city Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail with no bail.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation was conducted by State Police Investigator Todd Gran<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/shakunda.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-44139\" alt=\"shakunda\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/shakunda.jpg?resize=226%2C250\" width=\"226\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/shakunda.jpg?w=226&amp;ssl=1 226w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/shakunda.jpg?resize=135%2C150&amp;ssl=1 135w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/a>t, who is currently assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, and a Oneida County CPS worker who in conjunction were able to have the victim&#8217;s disclose information which subsequently led investigators to Aweys Shakundas&#8217; arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The Oneida County Child Advocacy Center is a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team that fights child abuse by providing a wide range of services for child victims, while also aggressively pursuing the offenders of these crimes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Marcy, NY &#8211; March 29, 2013) Major Rodney W.
