\"SONY<\/a>(Utica, NY- April 2013) Any groups or organizations interested in marching in Utica’s Memorial Day Parade may contact the Memorial Day Committee to sign up, announced Committee Chairman Mark Williamson, Command Master Chief, U.S. Navy (Ret).<\/p>\n

The parade steps off at 2 p.m. Monday, May 27, proceeding up Genesee Street from Oneida Square to the Memorial Parkway.<\/p>\n

For information on participating,\u00a0contact Williamson at\u00a0315-272-7327\u00a0or Committee Vice Chairmain\/Treasurer Joe Fraccola at\u00a0315-794-5296. Interested parties may also contact them via email at\u00a0parade@uticapost229.org.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by Utica Post 229 and the City of\u00a0Utica, the parade is organized by a committee representing various veterans’ organizations.<\/p>\n

This year’s\u00a0grand marshals\u00a0are World War II veterans Albert Circelli, Philip Capraro, Frank Zammiello, Joseph Ducato, Albert (Mutz) D’Accurzio and Louis Barile.<\/p>\n

Stosh Babairz has donated 1,000 American Flags to be handed out prior to the parade, noted Williamson.<\/p>\n

Also on Memorial Day, wreath-laying ceremonies will take place at six Utica monuments, starting at 11 a.m. at the Soldiers & Sailors Monument on Oneida Square.<\/p>\n

The committee has the following members. Mark Williamson, chairman; Joe Fraccola, vice chairman; Tom Bouno, Jim George, Larry Badger, Vince Zaleski, John Ryan, Carl Yeomans, Stanley Bogdan, Dan Pieloch.<\/p>\n
