(Earlville, NY \u2013 April 2013) Beef producers are invited to visit Drover Hill Farm in Earlville at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8.<\/p>\n
Producers will hear and see firsthand how William and Stephanie Lipsey have successfully used Expected Progeny Differences, better known as EPDs \u2013 in their angus herd and produced the kind of functional cattle their customers want.<\/p>\n
The Lipseys have identified two young bulls on their farm with known EPDs. We will examine several farm scenarios \u2013 cow\/calf, feeder or backgrounder with different kinds of facilities and markets \u2013 to see if either bull could be a potential herd sire.<\/p>\n
EPDs are indicators of genetic worth of an individual animal as a parent when compared to another individual of the same breed.<\/p>\n
