(Canastota, NY- April 2013) The Board of Trustees of the Canastota Public Library announces that it will hold a budget vote for fiscal year 2013-2014 on Tuesday May 7 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Library in the Lawson Community Room located in the lower level. The Library is located at 102 W. Center Street, Canastota.<\/p>\n
The budget amount is $328,257.\u00a0 This is a 5.5 percent increase over our previous budget amount of $311,036, which has been in place since our last election in 2006.\u00a0 The increase is primarily due to the large increase in the library’s contribution to the New York State Employee Retirement System (it increased from $13,000 last year to $27,000 this year) in which we are required to participate as a Civil Service entity.<\/p>\n
