Smith III\u00a0of 22625 Plaza Dr. Watertown for one count each of second-degree Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/willie-smith.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-46948\" alt=\"willie smith\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/willie-smith.jpg\" width=\"226\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/willie-smith.jpg 226w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/willie-smith-135x150.jpg 135w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>An investigation was started with a Child Protective Services hotline\u00a0referral of an injured 2 month old male infant.\u00a0 The infant was taken to Samaritan Medical Center (SMC) where he was diagnosed with two fractured arms, two fractured legs, fractured ribs and several fractures of the skull.\u00a0 The injuries were determined to be in various stages of healing and that some\u00a0could be\u00a0life threatening.\u00a0 The infant was transferred from SMC to Upstate Medical\u00a0Center\u00a0that evening.\u00a0 The investigation revealed that on one evening in the month of May\u00a0the infant\u2019s father, W. D. Smith III, punched the infant in the head with a closed fist.<\/p>\n<p>Smith was arraigned in the Town of Theresa court and was remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Alexandria Bay, NY &#8211; June 3, 2013)\u00a0On Friday, May 31 State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested 26-year-old\u00a0Willie D.
