{"id":48745,"date":"2013-07-31T13:00:05","date_gmt":"2013-07-31T17:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=48745"},"modified":"2013-07-31T08:56:15","modified_gmt":"2013-07-31T12:56:15","slug":"cny-bluegrass-association-announces-3rd-annual-jamfest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=48745","title":{"rendered":"CNY Bluegrass Association Announces 3rd Annual Jamfest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Lafayette, NY \u2013 July 2013) The Central New York Bluegrass Association\u00a0announces the 3rd Annual Jamfest to be held from\u00a0noon Aug. 16\u00a0until noon\u00a0Aug. 18\u00a0at the Lafayette Apple Festival Grounds, Route 20, Lafayette,<\/p>\n<p>Jamfest was born to promote and encourage Bluegrass, Olde Tyme Country, and Gospel music in CNY. Established players and new learners are invited to come out and jam, listen to bands, visit with old and new friends, and enjoy a family-friendly summer weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Held at the Lafayette Apple Festival Grounds people out invited to come Friday,\u00a0Saturday or the entire weekend. Camping is free, electric available for a nominal fee. Apple barns are easily accessed. Gates close at\u00a0noon on Sunday Aug. 18.<\/p>\n<p>Come out\u00a0Friday\u00a0and jam from\u00a0noon\u00a0until the last jam is done. Open mic is from noon to 5 p.m. noon to 5 p.m., the Music of Nature hike starts at at\u00a05:30 p.m. and the Square Dance \u00a0with Bob Nicholson calling is held from\u00a07 to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u00a0features eight CNY bands: The Rusty Doves of Utica, Pigeon Post String Band, Lake Effect Bluegrass, Zeke Leonard and the Syraukes, Easy Ramblers,\u00a0Midnight\u00a0Legion, Casual Plaid (five Marcellus high school students), and Diamond Someday Bluegrass, playing noon to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Jams will be held throughout the day, each in a special location.
