\"Cazenovia<\/a>(Cazenovia, NY \u2013 Aug. 2013) During September and October, Kathryn McCauley, Technology Librarian at Mid-York, will again conduct several technology classes at the Cazenovia Public Library.<\/p>\n

Two iPad classes will be available.\u00a0\u00a0The first class on \u201ciPad Basics\u201d will be taught on\u00a0Monday, Sept. 9\u00a0from\u00a03 to 4:30 pm.\u00a0\u00a0This class will provide the opportunity for users to address their iPad issues.\u00a0\u00a0General use, functions, compatible apps, trouble-shooting, and any other concerns will be covered.\u00a0\u00a0Bring your iPad or iPad mini and your questions.<\/p>\n

In the second iPad class on Thursday, Sept. 12\u00a0from\u00a03 to 4:30 pm, students will learn how to use additional apps.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Sept. 9 \u201cJob Search Skills 1\u201d will be held from\u00a06 to 8:30 pm\u00a0with \u201cJob Search Skills 2\u201d to follow on Thursday, Sept. 12\u00a0also from\u00a06 to 8:30 pm.\u00a0 This two-part class focuses on basic job search and computer skills.\u00a0 While any job seeker will find useful information in this class, it is designed particularly for those who struggle to complete the technology-related tasks required in a modern job search.<\/p>\n

\u201cJobs Search Skills 1\u201d will cover basic Microsoft Word skills to create a cover letter and resume.\u00a0 \u201cJob Search Skills 2\u201d will include information about using e-mail and online forms plus using the online resource Learning Express Library.\u00a0 During this class, students will have the opportunity to create a Learning Express account for more help with their job search.<\/p>\n

The technology classes conclude on Thursday, Oct. 10\u00a0with two Social Networking sessions.\u00a0 The first \u201cSocial Networking Personal\u201d will be held from\u00a03:30 to 5:30 pm\u00a0and the second \u201cSocial Networking Business\u201d from\u00a06:30 to 8:30 pm.\u00a0 \u00a0During these classes, participants will learn to use social networking tools to connect with friends and family or to promote their businesses.\u00a0 The basics of Facebook and Twitter will be covered as well as creating an account, updating profiles and postings, and navigating privacy settings.<\/p>\n
