{"id":49415,"date":"2013-08-27T11:30:12","date_gmt":"2013-08-27T15:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=49415"},"modified":"2013-08-26T21:31:49","modified_gmt":"2013-08-27T01:31:49","slug":"mansion-house-selected-for-preservation-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=49415","title":{"rendered":"Mansion House Selected for Preservation Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Oneida, NY \u2013 Aug. 26, 2013) The Pioneer America Society: Association for the Preservation of Landscapes and Artifacts (PAS: APAL) has selected Oneida Community Mansion House to receive PAS: APAL&#8217;s annual Historic Preservation Award.<\/p>\n<p>The Preservation Award annually recognizes the preservation, interpretation, instruction, celebration, or exhibition of American material culture.<\/p>\n<p>According to PAS:APAL Chairman Jeff Durbin, &#8220;We are\u00a0very impressed with the work that Oneida Community Mansion House has done to preserve and interpret the property.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Pioneer America Society is a national, not-for-profit organization that encourages the study and preservation of buildings, sites, structures and objects representing North American history, cultural landscapes and material culture.<\/p>\n<p>Organized in 1967, the Society carries out its mission by identifying, documenting, analyzing and interpreting significant cultural landscapes, architecture and artifacts and by encouraging educational programs, scholarly research and preservation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/mansion-house.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-449\" alt=\"mansion-house\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/mansion-house.jpg\" width=\"226\" height=\"156\" \/><\/a>They are a small organization that encourages the sharing of ideas and research across a variety of inter-disciplinary fields.
