<\/a>(Cazenovia, NY \u2013 Aug. 2013) Finding Wonderland:\u00a0Paintings by Ann Cross and Photographs by Patricia Christakos\u00a0opens at the Gallery at Cazenovia Public Library on\u00a0Friday Sept. 6\u00a0and runs through Oct. 31. An exhibition reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday Sept. 13 in the library’s museum.<\/p>\nCelebrating 25 years of friendship,\u00a0Finding Wonderland\u00a0presents the artists’ shared affinities for mysteries and gardens, landscapes and destinations, humor and insight. “Patti and I share a love of art, investigation, experimentation in our art,” said Cross. “It’s been a pleasure delving into our respective “Wonderlands.” The common\u00a0threads of color, composition, and theme, tie the imaginations of two artists together like storylines.<\/p>\n
“I’ve loved preparing for this exhibition,” said Christakos. It’s as if Ann and I are party hosts, opening the doors to our respective imaginations. We hope library visitors enjoy exploring our artistic connections as much as we have.”<\/p>\n
Finding Wonderland\u00a0at the Cazenovia Library will take part in the 2013 Greater Cazenovia Arts Trail held on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 14, 2013.<\/p>\n
Ann Cross\u00a0has a MSW from Syracuse University and enjoyed her career as a family therapist, in private practice for over 30 years. After raising her family, and retiring, she began painting, with the encouragement of family and friends, especially her husband Jack Rooney.<\/p>\n
Patricia Christakos\u00a0earned a journalism degree from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Her\u00a0self-portraits often explore the aging process and frequently entertain.\u00a0One of her photos,\u00a0The Caretaker,\u00a0was selected for a November 2013 exhibition at the Center for Fine Arts Photography in Colorado.\u00a0She is the creator of\u00a0The Half Century Mark Hotel\u00a0blog and\u00a0Cazenovia Public Library’s\u00a0Mr. Hubbard’s Salon\u00a0on Tumblr.<\/p>\n
Many of the works on exhibit are for sale. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cazenovia Public Library.<\/p>\n
The Art Gallery at 100 Albany Street in Cazenovia is open during regular library hours:\u00a09:00 am to 9:00 pmMonday-Friday\u00a0and from\u00a010:00 am to 5:00 pm\u00a0on Saturdays.<\/p>\n
