{"id":49583,"date":"2013-09-01T17:30:49","date_gmt":"2013-09-01T21:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=49583"},"modified":"2013-09-01T09:21:54","modified_gmt":"2013-09-01T13:21:54","slug":"morrisville-state-posts-womens-soccer-volleyball-scores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=49583","title":{"rendered":"Morrisville State Posts Women\u2019s Soccer, Volleyball Scores"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Women\u2019s soccer opens 2013 with loss to Paul Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>By\u00a0Brandy Thurston, Director of Sports Information<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Canton, NY- Aug. 31, 2013) The Morrisville State College women\u2019s soccer team opened the 2013 season campaign with a 2-0 loss to Paul Smith\u2019s College on the opening day of the SUNY Canton Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Smith\u2019s struck early, posting the first score just over 11 minutes into the contest before adding another five minutes later.<\/p>\n<p>Despite outshooting Paul Smith\u2019s 4-3 in the second half, the Mustangs were unable to put one up on the board, as they dropped the non-conference contest.<\/p>\n<p>Angela Marriott (Peekskill, N.Y.)\u00a0recorded the loss in net, turning away four opponent attempts.<\/p>\n<p>The Mustangs return to the field\u00a0tomorrow, playing Bay Path College at\u00a01 p.m.on the second day of the Roos Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>V<a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-41393\" alt=\"Morrisville State Lacrosse logo\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo.jpg\" width=\"216\" height=\"133\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo.jpg 216w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo-150x92.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 216px) 100vw, 216px\" \/><\/a><strong>olleyball drops pair at AMCC-NEAC Challenge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Buffalo, NY \u2013 Aug. 31, 2013) The Morrisville State women\u2019s volleyball team kicked off 2013 action\u00a0Saturday\u00a0afternoon, and fell in both contests, dropping a 3-0 decision to host D\u2019Youville College before settling for a 3-0 final with Hilbert.<\/p>\n<p>In the first of the day\u2019s action, newcomer\u00a0Brandy Ehrenschneider (Olmsted Falls, Ohio) led\u00a0the Mustangs attack with eight kills as they fell in three sets by scores of 18-25, 13-25, and 21-25.\u00a0Tiffany Jones-Maxwell (Hamilton, N.Y.)added five kills in the offensive efforts, while\u00a0Erika Bailey (Newark Valley, N.Y.)\u00a0set up 14 assists in her collegiate debut.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey added seven defensive digs to her tallies, with teammates\u00a0Kylie Murphy (Nichols, N.Y.)\u00a0and\u00a0Jackie Saddlemire (Knox, N.Y.)\u00a0registered six a piece.<\/p>\n<p>The Mustangs battled to a 15-25, 22-25, and 22-25 match final with Hilbert as Ehrenschneider and Jones-Maxwell paved the way with a combined 10 kill offensive effort for Morrisville State.<\/p>\n<p>Ehrenschneider added a team high four solo and three assisted blocks at the net, and Murphy 11 digs, in the defensive game.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey had 10 assists in the match.<\/p>\n<p>Morrisville State returns to the court\u00a0Saturday, traveling to Susquehanna University for a two-day tournament.<br \/>\nMorrisville State vs D&#8217;Youville College (Aug 31, 2013 at Buffalo, NY)<\/p>\n<p>D&#8217;Youville College def.
