{"id":49585,"date":"2013-09-02T09:30:04","date_gmt":"2013-09-02T13:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=49585"},"modified":"2013-09-01T09:25:19","modified_gmt":"2013-09-01T13:25:19","slug":"nobis-announces-resignation-from-post-at-morrisville-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=49585","title":{"rendered":"Nobis Announces Resignation from Post at Morrisville State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Brandy Thurston, Director of Sports Information<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Morrisville, NY- Sept. 1, 2013) Morrisville State College head women\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-41393\" alt=\"Morrisville State Lacrosse logo\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo.jpg\" width=\"216\" height=\"133\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo.jpg 216w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Morrisville-State-Lacrosse-logo-150x92.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 216px) 100vw, 216px\" \/><\/a>lacrosse coach and assistant sports information director,\u00a0Amanda Nobis, has announced her resignation after five seasons at the helm of the program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank Amanda for all the work she contributed to women&#8217;s lacrosse at\u00a0Morrisville State,\u201d Athletic Director\u00a0Greg Carroll\u00a0said. \u201cUnder her direction the program has grown and prospered.\u00a0The Mustangs are well positioned to move from being a dominant force in the North East\u00a0Athletic Conference to a true contender throughout Division III.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under her direction, the Mustangs have posted an overall record of 41-41, guiding the Mustangs to four straight appearances in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Tournaments and twice to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>Nobis directed Morrisville State to a season best 13-6 record in 2012, claimed the NEAC regular season and championship tournament titles, and earned the college\u2019s first bid to the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Along the way, she has coached several all-conference players, had several earn NEAC Scholar-Athlete honors, and herself was named Conference Coach of the Year. Nobis has also spearheaded numerous community service initiatives, including the most recent Domestic Violence Awareness campaign on campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoach Nobis brought many strengths to the lacrosse program at Morrisville, including a great awareness about the importance community service plays in a well-rounded NCAA experience. Her teams set a very high standard for our department with their commitment to many worthy causes including Special Olympics and the fight against domestic violence,\u201d Carroll said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose efforts, and others, speak volumes about athletics at Morrisville and Amanda&#8217;s commitment to character and citizenship.\u00a0 Speaking for our entire department we wish her the best knowing she is going to be successful after Morrisville.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank Director of Athletics Greg Carroll and the entire Athletic Department for their support over the last five years, for the opportunity to grow as a coach and to help create a great tradition of women&#8217;s lacrosse at Morrisville State College,\u201d Nobis said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe program will continue to move forward with its solid incoming class for this season, along with a great group of upperclassmen and captains who have a strong work ethic, big hearts and a team-first mentality.
