The music video beautifully portrays finding God’s peace in the midst of our everyday trials. My prayer for every listener is that this song takes them into their own personal garden with the Lord.”

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Hawthorne knew at the age of 5 that she wanted to become a professional recording artist. At 16, she gave her heart to the Lord during a crusade in her hometown, but never became grounded in the Word and continued to seek her own path. Eventually, Laura moved to New York City to pursue a recording career. Her call to ministry came after her younger brother, Jay, became a ventilator dependent quadriplegic due to a tragic construction accident in 2000. While at her brother’s bedside in a nursing facility, Laura penned “Ease the Pain,” an emotional ballad about her love for Jay.

“God gave me that song in an instant,” Hawthorne says, “because He knew how desperately we all needed hope.” As a National Anthem singer for the NY Mets, Hawthorne had the opportunity to perform her brother’s song at Shea Stadium during the 1st Annual Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day.

Hawthorne states: “I was a pretty self-centered and driven artist until my brother’s tragedy. But the Lord opened my eyes and gave me a new desire to use my gifts to further His kingdom while sharing my brother’s story.”

Founder of Livin’ in His Love Inc., a world outreach music ministry, Hawthorne began traveling the U.S. in 2004 as a worship leader and speaker. Her previous album, “He’s Been Faithful” (2009), was released as Hawthorne started traveling internationally, leading worship during mission trips in the Dominican Republic and Swaziland (Africa). In 2013, the Lord opened a door for her to minster at a benefit concert in Newtown, Conn., immediately following the Sandy Hook tragedy. Hawthorne states: “We all must be ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus…whenever and wherever He calls.”

Currently residing in upstate New York, Hawthorne is a worship leader at Netherwood Baptist Church

For more information regarding the Community Coffee House, call John Furman at 725-0974 or the church at 363-1061. The website is http://www.christchurchsherrillny.com.

(Sherrill, NY – Oct. 2013) National Christian recording artist Laura Hawthorne will be performing at the Christ Church Community Coffee House in Sherrill at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.
