{"id":50863,"date":"2013-10-20T08:30:01","date_gmt":"2013-10-20T12:30:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=50863"},"modified":"2013-10-19T18:18:45","modified_gmt":"2013-10-19T22:18:45","slug":"birnie-bus-service-to-hire-40-new-employees-appoints-new-directors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=50863","title":{"rendered":"Birnie Bus Service to Hire 40 New Employees &#8211; Appoints New Directors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/business.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-513\" alt=\"business\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/business.png\" width=\"226\" height=\"113\" \/><\/a>(Oct. 18, 2013) Birnie Bus Service, Inc., President Timothy Birnie announced that the company will hire 40 new drivers and monitors.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In addition, the company has hired Sean Patterson as Director of Human Resources and promoted Bruce Entelisano to Director of Motorcoach Operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re happy to have employees with such diverse experience and professionalism join our executive team,\u201d Birnie said. \u201cAnd we look forward to hiring more people to keep our company growing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The business has grown from 12 employees, one motor coach, two school buses, and a station wagon to the 9<sup>th<\/sup> largest bus company in the nation with nearly 1,300 buses and 42 motor coaches.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers receive six weeks of paid training that leads to certification as a commercial vehicle operator. School bus monitors must enjoy working with children, or clients with disabilities, and are trained in student management and safety.<\/p>\n<p>Patterson, from Syracuse has more than 13 years experience in human resources.\u00a0 Prior to joining Birnie Bus, he was a Human Resource Manager for SourceHOV, a global provider of business process solutions, strategic consulting and data analytics services.<\/p>\n<p>Sean holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Business and Public Management, from the State University of New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Management, also from SUNY IT. Patterson will lead a human resource department that provides service to more than 1600 employees working in 19 locations across New York State and one in Jacksonville, Fla.<\/p>\n<p>Entelisano\u2019s position will focus on generating new business while managing quality control for a host of special clients like the Syracuse Crunch and Utica Comets hockey teams, the Syracuse Chiefs and many local colleges and universities including Syracuse, Colgate, Hamilton, Mohawk Valley and Utica College.<\/p>\n<p>Bruce is from Rome, has more than 20 years experience in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Prior to joining Birnie Bus in 2010, he was Managing Editor for the Rome Observer.\u00a0 Most recently, Entelisano was a Transportation Manager for Birnie Bus in the Utica City School District.
