Laplaca, age 51.<\/p>\n<p>Laplaca is alleged to have collected approximately $16,124 from the New York State Insurance Fund \/ Workers Compensation while providing false documentation of his alleged on-duty injury.\u00a0 The alleged on-duty injury\u00a0was documented as occurring at the Watertown Correctional Facility, 23147 Swan Road, Watertown\u00a0on April 11, 2013 while Laplaca was responding to a personal alarm in the facility.<\/p>\n<p>Laplaca returned to work on July 1, 2013.\u00a0 He was charged with third-degree Grand Larceny (Class D felony), first-degree Falsifying Business Records (Class E felony), and Workers Compensation Fraud (Class E felony).<\/p>\n<p>Laplaca was arraigned before Town of Watertown Judge Renzi and released pending Grand Jury action.<\/p>\n<p>No further information available at this time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Watertown, NY \u2013 Nov. 5, 2013)\u00a0&#8211; State Police in Watertown assisted the New York State Inspector General Office with the arrest\u00a0of Watertown Correctional Officer Steven M.
