\"Morrisville<\/a>Holzwarth and Harrigan named Mustang Athletes of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Morrisville, NY \u2013 Nov. 8, 2013) \u00a0Morrisville State athletic department has named Ashley Holzwarth (Central Square, N.Y.) and Anna Harrigan (Lancaster, N.Y.) the Co-Mustang Athletes of the Week for the Week ending Nov. 3.<\/p>\n

Holzwarth and Harrigan earn Co-Mustang Athlete of the Week honors following and impressive showing on their respective teams.<\/p>\n

Holzwarth, freshman runner on the women\u2019s cross country team, stepped up for an injured Mustang in this past weekend at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships, the team to a second overall finish in the conference.<\/p>\n

In the 5K race she posted a time of\u00a021:49, placing eighth overall, efforts that earned her second team All-Conference accolades.<\/p>\n

A graduate of Paul V. Moore High, Holzwarth is majoring in nursing at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of David and Debbie Hozwarth of Central Square.<\/p>\n

Harrigan, who participates in the Intermediate II Western Horsemanship class placed first in both Western IHSA Shows this past week. This was no easy feat as she went against the top programs like Colgate University, Keuka College, SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Albany.<\/p>\n

A graduate of Lancaster High School, Harrigan is majoring in equine
\nscience and at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Dan and Davin
\nHarrigan of Lancaster.<\/p>\n

Peckham named NEAC Rookie of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"PeckhamA-MOR-MSO-2013\"<\/a>(Morrisville, NY \u2013 Nov. 8, 2013) The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has\u00a0announced its 2013 men\u2019s soccer Rookie of the Year, naming Morrisville\u00a0State College freshman midfielder, Alan Peckham (Webster, N.Y.), to\u00a0the honor following extraordinary play for the Mustangs.<\/p>\n

Starting 16 games and compiling two goals and six assist (first in the
\nconference) for Morrisville state this season, Peckham\u2019s play was
\ninsurmountable for the teams triumph this year.<\/p>\n

The Morrisville midfielder was breathtaking on the pitch this season
\nwith he\u2019s ability to set up scoring chances with his precision passing
\nand ball control helping the Mustangs to a playoff berth.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t stop at offense, defensively Peckham was brilliant, and
\nwhile controlling the middle he also helped Morrisville hold opponents
\nthis season to 96 shot (a team best) and 11 goals.<\/p>\n

This is the second time this award has been in the Peckham family,
\nwith last season\u2019s award going to his brother and teammate, Danny
\nPeckham (Webster, N.Y.).<\/p>\n

Morrisville State finished up the regular season 10-5-2 overall, 5-2-1
\nin conference play.<\/p>\n

Six Named to NEAC All-Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Morrisville, NY \u2013 Nov. 8, 2013) The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has\u00a0announced its 2013 men\u2019s soccer All-Conference selections, naming six Morrisville State student-athletes to its teams.<\/p>\n

Danny Peckham (Webster, N.Y.) was named to the first team; while Jacob
\nChase (Cooperstown, N.Y.), Joe Sheehan (Liverpool, N.Y.), Chernor
\nBarrie (Bronx, N.Y.), and Alan Peckham (Webster, N.Y.) produced second
\nteam honors; and Jesse Astudillo (Wheeling, Ill.) earning third team
\npraises.<\/p>\n

\"PeckhamD-MOR-MSO-2013\"<\/a>Danny Peckham, a sophomore defender who played in 15 games for the
\nMustangs this year held significant responsibilities in the three back
\nsystem. His extraordinary play helped Morrisville hold opponents to
\njust 13 goals total this year.<\/p>\n

\"Sheehan-MOR-MSO-2013\"<\/a>A freshman forward, Sheehan finished the regular season starting 15
\nout of 17 games scoring seven goals and adding one assist for 15 team
\npoints. He averaged 3.59 shots per game, 0.41 goals per game and 0.88
\npoints per game.<\/p>\n

\"Barrie-MOR-MSO-2013\"<\/a>Barrie, a junior forward for Morrisville, was the balance the Mustangs
\nneeded to create scoring chances. His ability to take defenders one v.
\none earned him 14 starts on the year posting six goals and 12 team
\npoints. Three scores on the year were game winners, ranking him third
\nin the conference.<\/p>\n

\"Chase-MOR-MSO-2013\"<\/a>Chase, a junior forward for the Mustangs, played in 13 games this
\nseason tailing seven goals and one assist for 15 points. He posted a
\ngame high two goals twice on the year, in the first outing against
\nAlfred and again against Penn St.-Berks in October.<\/p>\n

\"PeckhamA-MOR-MSO-2013\"<\/a>Alan Peckham, a freshman midfielder for the Mustangs, started 16
\ngames, while tailing two goals and six assist, for 10 team points.
\nControlling the center of the field on both sides of the ball
\nPeckham\u2019s play was masterful for the Mustangs also earning him Rookie
\nof the Year.<\/p>\n

\"Astudillo-MOR-MSO-2013\"<\/a>Astudillo, a junior midfielder for the Mustangs, started in all 17
\ngames for the Mustangs on the year, and posted two goals and two
\nassists for 6 team points. His play was an integral part of
\nMorrisville State\u2019s midfield playing both attacking central and
\noutside midfield positions.<\/p>\n

Morrisville State finished up the regular season 10-5-2 overall, 5-2-1
