(New Woodstock, NY \u2013 Dec. 2013) The New Woodstock Free Library annual volunteer recognition celebration will be held from\u00a010 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 7\u00a0at the library, 2106 Main St. (Route 13).\u00a0 The opening of the annual Cazenovia Schools student art exhibit will coincide with the volunteer event.<\/p>\n

The event will include refreshments, children\u2019s crafts, a brief ceremony to recount the year\u2019s achievements, and a first look at the children\u2019s art exhibit, which will run through\u00a0Jan. 31, 2014.\u00a0 The public is invited to attend, meet the student artists and thank the volunteers for their efforts.<\/p>\n

Librarian Norm Parry says volunteers have sustained and supported the library for 75 years.\u00a0 The library celebrates its \u201cdiamond\u201d anniversary this coming year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have always had, an extraordinary group of people who give their time and skills to make the library what it is,\u201d Parry said.\u00a0 \u201cWe could never thank them enough, but we designate one day a year to recognize the essential role they play in the library\u2019s success and longevity.\u00a0 We invite everyone who uses the library to stop by Dec. 7\u00a0and express their thanks.\u201d<\/p>\n

The student art show has been an annual attraction at the library for over 15 years.\u00a0 Cazenovia art teacher Mary Damon arranges the show.\u00a0\u00a0 For many of the students this exhibit is the first opportunity they\u2019ve had to show their works in a venue outside the school.<\/p>\n

The New Woodstock Free Library is open\u00a0Monday\u00a0through Friday\u00a01 to 5 p.m., Monday\u00a0and\u00a0Wednesday evenings 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 until 1.\u00a0 The library is also open whenever the blue library symbol flag is flying out front.\u00a0 Children\u2019s hour is every\u00a0Tuesday\u00a0at\u00a011 a.m.\u00a0 The library phone number is 662-3134.\u00a0 For more information, visit the library webpage\u00a0www.midyork.org\/newwoodstock<\/a>.<\/p>\n
