The Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished American picture book for children was given to Locomotive, illustrated by Brian Floca.<\/p>\n<p>The Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children\u2019s literature was awarded to Flora &amp; Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures Flora &amp; Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures, written by Kate DiCamillo.<\/p>\n<p>Midwinterblood, written by Marcus Sedgwick, was given the Printz Award for excellence in literature written for young adults.<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased that Flora &amp; Ulysses is already part of our collection, thanks to our book partnership with the Rotary Club of Hamilton.\u00a0 Both Locomotive and Midwinterblood are available to borrow through the Mid York Library System.\u00a0 We can\u2019t wait for our own copies to arrive in Hamilton soon.<\/p>\n<p>We hope you\u2019ll join us Thursday, Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. for a special reception honoring our exceptional artists.\u00a0 The Exceptional Art exhibit will be on display at the library throughout February and the beginning of March.\u00a0 Many thanks to our friends from the following organizations for arranging this wonderful opportunity: Heritage Farm, The ARC, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, Madison-Cortland ARC, Central New York DSO, ARISE, Herkimer Area Resource Center, and Resource Center for Independent Living.\u00a0 Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information about library resources, programs and policies, as well as access to our online services, is available through the library website <a href=\"http:\/\/midyorklib.org\/hamilton\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/midyorklib.org\/hamilton\/<\/a>.\u00a0 From the website, you can also sign up for our listserv and Wowbrary notices to receive emails about general library news and newly added materials in our collections.\u00a0 Follow us on Facebook for up-to-date information about programs, special events, and other general library-related information:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HPL.books\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HPL.books<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The library is normally open Monday-Friday, 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, 10am to 1pm.
