Madison Cortland ARC News<\/p>\n

\"N-05-2014<\/a>(Oneida, NY \u2013 March 2014) The Board of Directors for Madison Cortland ARC welcomes Deborah McGowan to the board. McGowan is currently employed as a chairperson for preschool and school age committees on special education at Liverpool Central School District.<\/p>\n

She is also the administrator for the extended school year program for students with disabilities K-12. McGowan has worked as the director of special education, as a speech\/language pathologist, and as an elementary and special education teacher.<\/p>\n

McGowan is guardian for her brother Dan, who has developmental disabilities and resides in Madison County. She takes great pride in being actively involved in her brother\u2019s care and is passionate about advocating for all people with disabilities. McGowan also has a daughter, Jane with disabilities. Jane is an inspiration to her entire family as she has overcome many challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am truly honored to serve on the ARC Board of Directors,\u201d said McGowan.<\/p>\n

McGowan resides in Liverpool with her husband Craig. They have three children, Lauren who lives in Buffalo and twin daughters Cara and Jane who reside in Rochester.<\/p>\n

\"N-05-2014<\/a>The Board of Directors for Madison Cortland ARC also welcomed Nancy Jones to the board. Jones is a graduate of Niagara University and received her master\u2019s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Syracuse University. She is recently retired from OPWDD.<\/p>\n

Jones enjoys volunteer work, volunteering for numerous organizations including the Veteran\u2019s Administration, Disabled American Veterans ClearPath for Veterans Chittenango, Special Olympics and Madison Cortland ARC.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Madison Cortland ARC is a great not-for-profit,\u201d said Jones. \u201cI look forward to working with the ARC staff and board. Individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities can and do offer so much to us and our community so we need to advocate for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones grew up in Fayetteville; she is married to Alyn Jones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
