The event will be held in the Oneida High School auditorium, and auditions will be\u00a0April 5\u00a0at La Vie Boheme Bistro in Oneida. \u00a0<!--more--><\/i><\/p>\n<p>(Oneida, NY \u2013March 2014) \u00a0Got talent?<\/p>\n<p>Whether that talent is for music, acting, dance, juggling, comedy, or any other creative flare, the \u201cGot Talent?\u201d talent show on\u00a0May 3\u00a0welcomes amateur contestants to come share those abilities. They will be helping out a great local cause at the same time, as profits from the show are earmarked to benefit the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility.<\/p>\n<p>The event is organized by the Oneida Healthcare Auxiliary and will be held in the Oneida High School auditorium. Auditions for the talent show will be April 5 from noon to 5 p.m.\u00a0at La Vie Boheme Bistro, located at 109 Madison St. in Oneida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the year we usually have a Follies, but when it was decided not to do that we looked for something different,\u201d said co-organizer and Oneida Healthcare Auxiliary board of directors member Barb Chamberlain. \u201cWe had done talent shows at the Kallet (Civic Center in Oneida) before and they were successful, so we thought we could do the same for the Extended Care Facility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Profits will be used to purchase folding chairs for rooms at the ECF, event co-organizer and Oneida Healthcare director of volunteer services Terri Welcher explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to be able to have folding chairs in every resident\u2019s closet,\u201d she said. \u201cThat way their visitors will have a comfortable place to sit when they come to see them, and maybe they will stay longer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brett Bogardus of Bogardus Performing Arts Center in Oneida is the show\u2018s producer. Oneida-based classic rock band Coston &#8212; including Oneida High School class of 1982 graduate Roy Coston on lead vocals and lead guitar, his son and OHS junior Gunnar Coston, 16, on drums, and Mike Jaquays on bass and backing vocals, are the emcees for the event.<\/p>\n<p>They will also play a set of their own during the talent show\u2019s intermission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a great way to bring the community together to see the talent we have right here in the central New York area,\u201d the elder Coston said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are so many people out there doing creative things who never get a chance to showcase their abilities,\u201d Jaquays added. \u201cThe talent show gives them a spotlight and the chance to shine in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Professional judges &#8211; brought in to the show from out of the area to be totally impartial &#8211; will choose the winners in three categories: 8 to 12 years old, 13 to 18 years old, and older than 18.
