(Norwich, NY \u2013 June 2014) The next free film screening\u00a0of the \u201cSecond Tuesday\u2019s Monthly Film Series\u201d will be\u00a07 PM on June 10th. at the United Church of Christ, 11 W. Main, Norwich. \u201cDirty Wars\u201d is the award-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary featuring reporter Jeremy Scahill\u2019s real investigations of behind-the-scenes military operations that are carried out in our name in the covert war on terror.\u00a0 Generally unknown to the general public, nor directly sanctioned by Congress, the film reveals the dark side of American wars in the 21st Century and suggests such actions are illegal and promote a state of endless global war.<\/p>\n
As has been this monthly event\u2019s format, attendees are invited to come at\u00a06:30\u00a0for a light supper before the showing, and to stay on for discussion after the viewing. \u00a0 It is requested one please not park in the church\u2019s lot behind it, but instead on the street, or in the County Office Building or Hayes Street municipal lots.<\/p>\n
This monthly community service educational film series event features screenings on current environmental, social justice, and war & peace issues.\u00a0 It is co-sponsored by Chenango County Peace Action and C-CARE (Community Action for Renewable Energy).<\/p>\n
