St. Joseph\u2019s Hospital Health Center\u2019s\u00a0cardiac surgery team\u00a0has been ranked in the top 15 in the country, according to Consumer Reports. (Syracuse, NY \u2013 July 2014) \u00a0Consumer Reports\u00a0has ranked St. Joseph\u2019s Hospital Health Center among the highest in the United States when it comes to heart surgery. The rating for heart bypass surgery and aortic valve replacement surgery, plus the two combined, puts St. Joseph\u2019s in a very elite class \u2013 which includes only 15 hospitals out of more than 400 nationwide.<\/p>\n

The national ranking adds to several other recognitions St. Joseph\u2019s has received for its cardiac care services, including\u00a0HealthGrades\u00a0100 Best Hospitals for Coronary Intervention\u2122, Top 10% in the nation for coronary interventional procedures, and the Society of Chest Pain Center and\u00a0Society for Thoracic Surgeons\u00a0(three out of three star rated). In addition, St. Joseph\u2019s cardiac care program is the area’s only nationally certified\u00a0Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, has been selected as the only hospital in Central New York to provide\u00a0Transcatheter Aortic Valv Replacement (TAVR), and is the only hospital in CNY offering PPM and ICD lead management including lead extractions.<\/p>\n

St. Joseph\u2019s is fully accredited for cardiac catheterization by\u00a0Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence\u00a0(ACE), the first hospital in New York and the second in the United States to accomplish accreditation in all three cardiovascular quality disciplines with the ACE: diagnostic cath, PCI and carotid artery stenting.<\/p>\n
