She was chosen as someone who exemplifies the personal qualities of Dr. Nell Jackson, a former U.S. Olympic athlete and coach who also served as a longtime athletics administrator at Michigan State.<\/p>\n<p>The NACWAA release stated that, \u201cNell Jackson honoree Ann-Marie Guglieri strives for excellence not only in advocating for gender equity, diversity, pluralism and individual differences, but also in influencing others to do the same. In her 15 years in intercollegiate athletics, Ann-Marie has been applauded for her enthusiasm in serving as a role model and mentor for thousands of student-athletes and hundreds of coaches and peer administrators.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has made changes and improvements that have changed the athletic culture of Colgate for the better.
