{"id":57053,"date":"2014-07-26T13:45:31","date_gmt":"2014-07-26T17:45:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=57053"},"modified":"2014-07-26T12:33:07","modified_gmt":"2014-07-26T16:33:07","slug":"utica-man-faces-felony-drug-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=57053","title":{"rendered":"Utica Man Faces Felony Drug Charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Ruvejd-Smajlovic-MUG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-57054\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Ruvejd-Smajlovic-MUG.jpg\" alt=\"Ruvejd Smajlovic - MUG\" width=\"226\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Ruvejd-Smajlovic-MUG.jpg 226w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Ruvejd-Smajlovic-MUG-119x150.jpg 119w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/a>Police Say he was trafficking heroin<\/p>\n<p>(Utica, NY \u2013 July 25, 2014) The New York State Police Gun Investigation Unit (GIU)\u00a0and Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET)\u00a0announce the arrest of a 20 year-old,\u00a0Ruvejd Smajlovic\u00a0from Utica following a two month investigation into the trafficking of heroin in the City of Utica and surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p>Smajlovic, of 923 Mary St., Utica was arrested July 24 at 12:35 p.m. on Genesee Street in Utica.<\/p>\n<p>He was charged with third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Intent to Sell), a Class B Felony.<\/p>\n<p>Smajlovic was arrested following a search warrant execution, upon his person, during which time he was the passenger in a motor vehicle.\u00a0 A marked State Police Unit conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Genesee St. in the City of Utica.\u00a0 He attempted to flee from the vehicle while also attempting to dispose of a quantity of heroin that was in his possession.\u00a0 He was apprehended by the Uniform Trooper along with State Police Investigators once he had exited the vehicle.\u00a0 A quantity of marijuana was also located on his person.<\/p>\n<p>Additional assistance in the investigation was provided by the State Police&#8217;s K-9 Unit, The City of Utica Police Department&#8217;s &#8211; Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division(CID), METRO Unit and UPD evidence technicians<br \/>\nSmajlovic was arraigned in the City of Utica Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in Lieu of $10,000 cash bail.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police Say he was trafficking heroin (Utica, NY \u2013 July 25, 2014) The New York State Police Gun Investigation Unit (GIU)\u00a0and Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET)\u00a0announce the arrest of a 20 year-old,\u00a0Ruvejd Smajlovic\u00a0from Utica following a two month investigation into the trafficking of heroin in the City of Utica and surrounding area.
