Each committee contributes to policy-making, both in subject areas and Association-wide.<\/p>\n<p>The new committee chairs are:<\/p>\n<p>Natalie Carraway\u00a0of Barneveld,\u00a0Committee on Animals and the Law. A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and Albany Law School, Carraway is the assistant dean of the Center for Social Sciences, Business and Information Sciences at Mohawk Valley Community College.<\/p>\n<p>Betsy Ruslander\u00a0of Albany,\u00a0Committee on Children and the Law. A graduate of Gettysburg College and Pace University School of Law, Ruslander is the director of the Office of Attorneys for Children for the Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department.<\/p>\n<p>Alan J. Pierce\u00a0of Syracuse,\u00a0Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction. A graduate of St. Lawrence University and Syracuse University College of Law, Pierce is a partner at Hancock Estabrook.<\/p>\n<p>Tara L. Moffett\u00a0of Albany,\u00a0Committee on Disability Rights. A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and Albany Law School, Moffett is an associate at Girvin &amp; Ferlazzo.<\/p>\n<p>Marian C. Rice\u00a0of Garden City,\u00a0Committee on Law Practice Management\u00a0(co-chair). A graduate of Fordham College and St. John&#8217;s University School of Law, Rice is a partner of L&#8217;Abbate Balkan Colavita &amp; Contini.<\/p>\n<p>Kim Wolf Price\u00a0of Syracuse,\u00a0Committee on Lawyers in Transition. A graduate of Colgate University and Syracuse University College of Law, Price is the assistant dean of career services at Syracuse University College of Law.<\/p>\n<p>Jonah Triebwasser\u00a0of Red Hook,\u00a0Committee on Law, Youth &amp; Citizenship. A graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and New York Law School, Triebwasser is the town and village justice for Red Hook.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan D. Hetherington\u00a0of Rochester,\u00a0Committee on Legal Aid\u00a0(co-chair). A graduate of LaSalle College and Cornell Law School, Hetherington is the chief counsel of the Empire Justice Center in Rochester.<\/p>\n<p>Keisha A. Williams\u00a0of Buffalo,\u00a0Committee on Legal Aid\u00a0(co-chair). A graduate of Pace University School of Law, Williams is a staff attorney with the Western New York Law Center.<\/p>\n<p>Patricia Salkin\u00a0of Central Islip,\u00a0Committee on Legal Education and Admission to the Bar. A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and Albany Law School, Salkin is the dean and a professor of law at the Touro College Jacob D. Fuschsberg Law Center.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Parker\u00a0of Buffalo,\u00a0Committee on Mass Disaster Response. A graduate of Canisius College and the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School, Parker is the first assistant county attorney to the Erie County Department of Law.<\/p>\n<p>Marjorie Gross\u00a0of New York City,\u00a0Committee on Professional Ethics. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Georgetown University Law Center, Gross is the principal of the Law Office of Marjorie Gross.<\/p>\n<p>Roy D. Simon\u00a0of New York City,\u00a0Committee on Standards of Attorney Conduct. A graduate of Williams College and New York University School of Law, Simon is a distinguished professor emeritus of law at Hofstra University School of Law.<\/p>\n<p>Ferve E. Ozturk\u00a0of New York City,\u00a0Committee on Women in the Law\u00a0(co-chair). A graduate of Brown University and Cornell Law School, Ozturk is an associate at Baker &amp; Hostetler.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew D. Kossover\u00a0of New Paltz,\u00a0Committee to Ensure Quality of Mandated Representation. A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo and Vermont Law School, Kossover is a partner in the Kossover Law Offices and is Ulster County&#8217;s part-time public defender.<\/p>\n<p>William T. Russell\u00a0of New York City,\u00a0President&#8217;s Committee on Access to Justice\u00a0(co-chair). A graduate of Princeton University and New York University School of Law, Russell is a partner at Simpson Thacher &amp; Bartlett.<\/p>\n<p>Ellen G. Makofsky\u00a0of Garden City,\u00a0Resolutions Committee. A graduate of Boston University and Brooklyn Law School, Makofsky is a partner of Raskin &amp; Makofsky.<\/p>\n<p>The 75,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation.
