{"id":57089,"date":"2014-07-26T15:30:55","date_gmt":"2014-07-26T19:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=57089"},"modified":"2014-07-26T13:46:48","modified_gmt":"2014-07-26T17:46:48","slug":"the-fountainhead-group-achieves-recycleone-business-certification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=57089","title":{"rendered":"The Fountainhead Group Achieves RecycleOne Business Certification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Oneida County, NY \u2013 July 2014) The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is pleased to announce that The Fountainhead Group, Inc. has received the Authority\u2019s RecycleOne Business Certification as the first industry in Oneida and Herkimer Counties.<\/p>\n<p>The Fountainhead Group is being recognized for taking unique steps to reduce their material delivery costs, save energy and reduce their solid waste disposal costs while increasing recycling at their plastic hand sprayer manufacturing facility in New York Mills.<\/p>\n<p>The Fountainhead Group, Inc. has developed an operation that allowed the millions of pounds of plastic resin pellets they use annually in production to be delivered by railcars. The utilization of the railcars and large bulk storage units reduced the number of deliveries required by over the road tractor trailers by nearly 400 percent.\u00a0 This not only reduced their transportation delivery costs but also decreased their Carbon Footprint carbon emissions produced.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, they developed a comprehensive recycling and waste reduction program for their 200 employees located at their manufacturing facility.<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, over 284,000 pounds of corrugated cardboard, 15,000 pounds of plastics, 2,500 pounds of office paper and 3,200 pounds of various metals were collected for recycling and reuse.<\/p>\n<p>The Fountainhead Group, Inc. has also replaced their outside lights from high energy bulbs to low energy LED bulbs to greatly reduce their energy costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Fountainhead Group is pleased to participate in this waste reduction and recycling program which not only improves the environment but also saves energy and reduces expenses for our industry,\u201d said Manufacturing Engineering Manager Andrew Manolescu.\u00a0 \u201cBy increasing recycling and implementing waste and energy reduction program within our facility, we can effectively and efficiently manage our recyclable waste,\u201d said Manolescu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe RecycleOne Business Recycling Program is economically advantageous and environmentally sound for businesses and industries that participate because they can benefit from lower costs for waste removal, increased recycling and reduced energy costs,\u201dsaid David Lupinski, Authority Director of Recycling.<\/p>\n<p>The RecycleOne Business Recycling Certification Program requires an on-site review from Authority staff to verify that specific solid waste management, recycling and energy reduction criteria have been achieved.\u00a0 If the criteria have been achieved, the Authority will issue the facility or business an official RecycleOne Business Certification.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Authority\u2019s RecycleOne Business Recycling Program, contact David Lupinski, Director of Recycling, at (315) 733-1224 Ext. 1600 or visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.recycleonebusiness.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.RecycleOneBusiness.com<\/a>\u00a0 to download the RecycleOne Business Recycling Program Guide.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Oneida County, NY \u2013 July 2014) The Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is pleased to announce that The Fountainhead Group, Inc. has received the Authority\u2019s RecycleOne Business Certification as the first industry in Oneida and Herkimer Counties.
