Why this road in particular? Band member Craven says that after a long day\u2019s work, on his journey back from \u201cwherever work was that day,\u201d Williams Road was the &#8216;last stretch&#8217; before he got home, and the band expresses a similar sentiment \u2013 the feeling of &#8216;coming home.'&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(Earlville, NY \u2013 Aug. 2014) Williams Road takes us driving down the Indie lane this\u00a0Thursday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m.\u00a0as\u00a0the final concert in this summer&#8217;s Hamilton Arts in the Park series. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Indie folk combines the catchy melodies of indie rock with the acoustical sounds of contemporary folk music.<\/p>\n<p>Williams Road\u00a0capitalizes\u00a0on the band members&#8217; talent for songwriting, clean licks and\u00a0clear vocal harmonies to create new inroads into the genre.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hamilton-homegrown band Williams Road, created in 2009, will become a part of upstate New York\u2019s storied musical tradition with the release of their first official album, the self-titled \u201cWilliams Road.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Composed of band members\u00a0Mike Craven, Scott Krueger, Clare Pellerin and Brad Jewett,\u00a0Williams Road is, as Krueger says, a \u201cwhole greater than the sum of its parts.\u201d The band\u2019s musicians each come from different musical backgrounds, from the classically-trained to the self-taught, but through their common central New York bond, are able to create a solid, distinctive sound that has often been described as a blend of folk, roots, and indie, with a deep and heavy undercurrent of Americana.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy an evening of music in the Village Green.
