Model will play keyboard and provide insights into silent film at this year&#8217;s event at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"Standhead\">Hamilton Theater News<\/p>\n<p class=\"byline\"><strong><em>By Constance Mente<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Text\">(Hamilton, NY &#8211; Aug. 2014) Hamilton Theater takes a trip down memory lane at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, with An Evening of Silent Film, featuring the 1925 comedy classic, \u201cThe Freshman,\u201d starring Harold Lloyd; admission is $8.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Text\">\u201cFamilies that have not had the pleasure of enjoying silent film are in for a treat,\u201d said Hamilton Theater\u2019s Chuck Fox. \u201cHarold Lloyd\u2019s comedy is as entertaining for families today as it was for those who enjoyed his films in the Hamilton Theater in the 1920s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Text\">Live accompaniment on keyboard and fascinating insights into the silent film era will once again be provided by Ben Model, silent film historian and host of the Silent Clown Film Series in New York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Text\">Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton are widely recognized as the greatest comic stars of the silent film era. In The Freshman, nerdy first-year student Harold Lamb becomes the target of practical jokes when he arrives at Tate University. With the help of his one true friend, Peggy, he resolves to make every possible effort to become popular.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Text\">Comedy ensues, highlighted by Lloyd&#8217;s classic action scenes, all shot without the benefit of trick photography.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Text\">An Evening of Silent Film is sponsored by Vantine Imaging and LB Homewood Construction.
