School-aged children will learn what Vincent Van Gogh mastered, the art of painting the wonders of sunflowers, under the direction of Youth Librarian Michele Ryan.<\/p>\n

Railroad historian John Taibi presents in words and pictures his latest book, Volume II of \u201cRoads, Rivers and Rails: The Delaware & Hudson\u2019s Susquehanna Division Heritage Trail,\u201d which covers the trail from Oneonta to Binghamton. Taibi will discourse on the local history, curiosities and railroad lore along the famed Delaware & Hudson Susquehanna route.<\/p>\n

As the World War I Centennial begins, the OPL hosts a special adult reading and discussion group on the history and literature of the \u201cWar To End All Wars\u201d sponsored by the New York Council for the Humanities. The group, led by Dr. Tom Murray, will discuss selected readings from books provided on loan by the Council over six weekly sessions, held on Tuesdays7:00-8:30 p.m. from\u00a0September 30 to November 4. The group is limited to 15, so those interested should sign up at the library desk as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
