(Madison County, NY \u2013 Sept. 2014) ) On Saturday Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Madison County Historical Society will host its 50th annual Craft Days. Dozens of juried vendors, live music both days, food and fun for the whole family. Tickets are $4 for a day or $6 for both days. For more information, visit mchs1900.org or call 315.363.4136.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Sept. 6, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum will host Twilight at the Dry Dock. This year\u2019s \u201cBelieve it or not raffle\u201d is a full day\u2019s guided salmon\/steelhead fishing trip for two. Guide Nick Coppola of Slick Water Adventures will lead the tour. On Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m., the Morrisville Public Library welcomes John Taibi who will present \u201cFavorite Stories of Madison County Railroaders & Railroad Admirers.\u201d Taibi has published numerous books on local railroads and is an expert in local railroad history. He will be telling stories from throughout the county that he has compiled through all of his research. There is no charge for this talk. For more information, call 315.684.9130.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m., the Erieville\/Nelson Heritage Society welcomes Steve Richards to the Erieville Firehouse. On Friday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m., the Morrisville Public Library welcomes Sue Greenhagen who will present the \u201cMagical History Tour of Mo\u2019ville.\u201d Greenhagen will lead you on a new and improved tour through the history of Morrisville. Using photos, postcards and newspaper clippings, Greenhagen will show you what the village looked like then and now. There is no charge for this talk. For more information, call 315.684.9130.<\/p>\n

From Sept. 12 through Sept. 13, the Madison County Historical Society will host its annual Hops Fest. A paired beer dinner, beer sampling, brewing and hops presentations and the taste of hops are just some of the fun events that are available throughout this historic weekend. On Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m., the Morrisville Public Library welcomes Dan Shumway who will present \u201cUtica Beer & Breweries.\u201d Shumway, author of Utica Beer, will talk about the local Utica Breweries throughout history and his new book. On Thursday, Sept. 18, the Madison County Civil War Series will host their first meeting for all interested parties at Madison Hall in Morrisville. Local Historian Sue Greenhagen will present \u201cNew York Connections to the Civil War.\u201d This is event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 315.366.2453.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the village of Hamilton will host the sixth annual Chocolate Train Festival. Live music, local history and lots of chocolate will be available. On Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m., Oakwood Cemetery will host \u201cHere Come da Judge: Judges, Lawyers & Other Legal Reprobates.\u201d Volunteer Sue Greenhagen will lead this tour, which will focus on members of our legal community. This tour will start near start at the chapel on the west side of the cemetery. All tours are free, but donations are accepted. Allow two hours for tours, which will take place rain or shine. On Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum will host local author Hank Leo. Leo will talk about and sign new copies of his new book Return to Allen Park.
