\"Hanna<\/a>Southern Tier, Central New York, Mohawk Valley regions each receive $70,000<\/p>\n

(Jan. 2015)\u00a0U.S. Representative Richard Hanna\u00a0today announced that the\u00a0Economic Development Administration\u00a0awarded $210,000 in grant funding to agencies in upstate New York to promote economic development and job creation.<\/p>\n

In the 22nd Congressional District, three regions were\u00a0each awarded $70,000\u00a0to establish an economic development planning framework process and strategy that supports private capital investment and job creation in the region.<\/p>\n

This EDA planning investment supports the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the following regions:<\/p>\n

Southern Tier:\u00a0The grant is awarded to the Southern Tier East Regional Planning and Development Commission, which comprises the counties of Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, and Tioga.<\/p>\n

Central New York:\u00a0The grant is awarded to Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board, which comprises the counties of Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego, and the city of Syracuse<\/p>\n

Mohawk Valley:\u00a0The grant is awarded to the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, which comprises the counties of Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego, and Schoharie.<\/p>\n

This funding process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my hope that this grant funding will be instrumental in helping to strengthen public\/private partnerships to create more jobs for upstate New Yorkers,\u201d\u00a0Rep.
