{"id":59934,"date":"2015-01-12T20:35:28","date_gmt":"2015-01-13T01:35:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=59934"},"modified":"2015-01-12T20:29:33","modified_gmt":"2015-01-13T01:29:33","slug":"maciol-coots-guest-speakers-at-oneida-county-association-of-towns-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=59934","title":{"rendered":"Maciol, Coots Guest Speakers at Oneida County Association of Towns Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/meeting1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-861\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/meeting1.jpg\" alt=\"meeting1\" width=\"226\" height=\"161\" \/><\/a>(Yorkville, NY \u2013 Jan. 2015) The Oneida County Association of Towns (OCAOT) will have two guest speakers at their Jan. 20 dinner meeting to be held at Club Monarch (16 Erie Street) in Yorkville.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Robert Maciol of the Oneida County Sheriff\u2019s Office\u00a0(OCSO) will provide an update on the various services available that the OCSO provides or can provide to towns.<\/p>\n<p>Major Francis Coots of the New York State Police (NYSP) will given an update on his new leadership role within the NYSP and how the NYSP serves\u00a0Oneida\u00a0County\u00a0towns.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting starts promptly at\u00a06pm. The guest speakers will begin after dinner has been served.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the last few OCAOT meetings, we\u2019ve been scheduling two guest speakers and it seems to work well,\u201d said Fritz Scherz, OCAOT President. \u201cThe two speakers scheduled for our January meeting each serve in vital criminal justice and leadership roles within the community.\u00a0 With those roles comes an awesome responsibility and it will be great for the members of the OCAOT to have an opportunity to not only learn more about the roles and services of the OCSO and NYSP, but to also have an opportunity to ask questions of both Mr. Maciol and Mr. Coots. I\u2019m hopeful of seeing many of my colleagues from local government in\u00a0Oneida\u00a0County\u00a0at this meeting and encourage those interested to sign up right away as seating is limited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The OCAOT has a goal of helping towns obtain greater economy and efficiency, and to provide learning and networking opportunities for town officials. Officials from local government in\u00a0Oneida\u00a0County\u00a0are welcome to attend all\u00a0OCAOT meetings.<\/p>\n<p>The cost per attendee (payable at the door) is $20.
