(San Diego, Calif. \u2013 Jan. 2015) \u00a0At the American Farm Bureau Federation\u2019s 96th Annual Convention and IDEAg Trade Show between 5,000 & 8,000 members and guest attend.<\/p>\n

Chenango County Farm Bureau is one of 24 county Farm Bureaus nationwide that was recognized by the American Farm Bureau Federation for innovative program ideas through the organization\u2019s County Activities of Excellence (CAE) Awards program this year.<\/p>\n

The CAE program acknowledges and shares successful county Farm Bureau programs and activities.<\/p>\n

While focusing on Farm Bureau\u2019s priority issues in the following areas: Education and Ag Promotion; Member Services; Public Relations and Information; Leadership Development; and Policy Implementation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe successful programs and activities on display are a valuable resource for grassroots Farm Bureau members and help promote agriculture within farming communities,\u201d said AFBF President Bob Stallman.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s CAE award winners come from 12 states: Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

Chenango County Farm Bureau\u2019s program, \u201cWho do you call? Farm Bureau!\u201d under Member Services is a program designed to help farmers and the public to be prepared for disasters and how to deal with a disaster if it should occur.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis makes our fourteenth national award!\u201d\u00a0 \u201cWe were excited when we won our first national award then we were told that we had won more than any other County or perish in the country at six,\u201d said Bradd Vickers, President of CCFB.<\/p>\n

Rainy Collins-Vickers, Promotion and Education Chair for CCFB said, \u201cWe don\u2019t set out to win an award; our objective is to create a program to help our members and the community.\u00a0 If it\u2019s a national winner then it will help more people and that\u2019s a plus.\u201d<\/p>\n
