(New Woodstock, NY \u2013 Jan. 2015) Traci Schuster and Brandon Schmidt, two local artists, will team up for an art show full of color and creativity at the New Woodstock Free Library\u00a0Feb. 2 through March 10.\u00a0 A reception for the artists will be held Friday Feb. 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.\u00a0 The reception and the exhibit are open to the public.<\/p>\n

The title of the two-artist exhibit is Color and Abstraction: Art that Symbolizes the Natural World.<\/p>\n

\"TRACI<\/a>Traci says her fascination with art began with Van Gogh\u2019s iconic \u201cStarry Night,\u201d which provided her with \u201ca different way of interpreting nature\u201d and her connection to it.\u00a0 She credits her high school art teacher and mentor Gordon Muck with fostering her desire to \u201cemotionally express\u201d herself and \u201ctranscend learning\u201d to make the art her own.<\/p>\n

Brandon, who makes his own art tools instead of using traditional brushes, says \u201cThe natural world is very close to me\u2026 the inspiration for the majority of the pieces in this show came from my experience with the flooding of Fort Collins, Colorado and the 1700 mile cross-country journey with my fianc\u00e9 Breanna, that provided the connection with nature that is expressed in my work.\u201d\"Brandon<\/a><\/p>\n
