Barretta,\u00a0age 48, from New Hartford was traveling on a 2013 Polaris Indy 600SP snowmobile, in a northerly direction on a trail head approximately one mile south of Roberts Road in the Town of Litchfield.\u00a0 Witnesses on scene stated Barretta was going too fast for conditions and failed to negotiate a curve.<\/p>\n<p>Barretta exited the west shoulder off of the trail and struck a tree ejecting Barretta.\u00a0 He was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Herkimer, NY \u2013 Feb. 2015) On Feb. 4 at approximately 10:34 p.m. Herkimer County 911 received a report of a personal injury snowmobile accident operator unresponsive CPR\u00a0 in progress.
