\"Caz<\/a>(Cazenovia, NY \u2013 Feb. 2015) The Cazenovia Public Library is offering students and families a full week of activities during Winter Break\u2014a Museum Academy, Crafter-noon, Art Explorers, a Jim McCarthy concert, and Life Beneath the Waves\u2014A Photographic Journey with Chris Dascher.<\/p>\n

Museum Academy:\u00a0Tuesday, Feb. 17 with Jenna Wright<\/p>\n

In partnership with Lorenzo State Historic Site, children ages 8 to 12 will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the ice industry on Cazenovia Lake as well as take part in art and science projects.<\/p>\n

This program runs from\u00a01:30 to 3 p.m. at Lorenzo State Historic Site.\u00a0 Registration for the \u201cMuseum Academy\u201d is on a first come, first serve basis and includes a $2 registration fee per child.<\/p>\n

Crafter-noon: Wednesday, Feb. 18<\/p>\n

The Library\u2019s Story Garden will be open from\u00a01:30 to 3 p.m.\u00a0for creators of all ages.\u00a0 Using a variety of materials, everyone can dive into a fun new experience and make your imaginative musings come to life.\u00a0 \u00a0All materials for children and families to tinker and create with will be provided. No registration is required for this event.<\/p>\n

Free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Art Explorers:\u00a0Thursday, Feb. 19<\/p>\n

Children ages 8-12 are invited to the Library Community Room from\u00a01:30 to 3:00 pm\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 to learn about pop art and Andy Warhol.\u00a0 Participants will then have the opportunity to create their own art in a similar style.<\/p>\n

Registration is required in order to ensure that sufficient materials are available for all participants. \u00a0Stop by or call the Library at 655-9322 to reserve a spot for this program.<\/p>\n

Jim McCarthy Concert:\u00a0Friday, Feb. 20<\/p>\n

Join Jim McCarthy in the Community Room at\u00a07:00 pm\u00a0for \u201cCelebrate Reading,\u201d a fun family concert with audience participation and upbeat music to delight the entire family.\u00a0 Presented in hundreds of libraries since 1995, \u201cCelebrate Reading\u201d is a high energy, high participation sing-along, clap-along family concert that celebrates all the joys of reading.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by the Friends,\u00a0this concert is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Life beneath the Waves\u2014A Photographic Journey:\u00a0 Saturday, Feb. 21with Chris Dascher<\/p>\n

In the Community Room at\u00a011 a.m. children and adults can escape the winter by going on an underwater adventure with Chris Dascher, who has traveled the planet to capture images of the undersea environment.<\/p>\n

One of his goals is to raise public awareness of the damage done to the ocean habitat and its native inhabitants by humans.\u00a0 Through his photography, he hopes to help protect these fragile marine environments and the endangered species, both large and small, that call the ocean home. \u00a0Sponsored by the Friends, this presentation is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
