Thirty-nine 4-H youths, from all over Herkimer County, took turns giving illustrated talks or demonstrations in front of judges that evaluated their presentation skills. Youth presented on many topics including Volcanoes, Phases of the Moon, Swedish Brownies and many others.<\/p>\n<p>Special thanks go out to our volunteer evaluators for taking the time to evaluate and work with our youth.\u00a0 The evaluators for the event were John Skinner, Sue Culver, Sheryl Taylor, Sarah Hardy and Ed Smith.<\/p>\n<p>By participating in this event, 4-H youth improve their public speaking ability while developing self-confidence, poise, self-esteem, stage presence and knowledge, giving them an advantage over their peers in this lifetime skills area. These skills will be useful in their future social, educational and career pursuits.<\/p>\n<p>Cloverbuds who participated in the event were:\u00a0\u00a0Luke\u00a0and\u00a0Paige Alesia,\u00a0Alea Burger,\u00a0Hailey Carnright,\u00a0Kayden Ford,\u00a0Logan\u00a0and\u00a0Lucas Humphreville,Austin Jones,\u00a0Lily Payne\u00a0and\u00a0James Simon.<\/p>\n<p>Traditional 4-H members who participated in the event were:\u00a0\u00a0Bo,\u00a0Issac\u00a0andJordynn Alesia,\u00a0Kelly Allen,\u00a0Alexandria Burger,\u00a0Hannah Carnright,\u00a0AnNi\u00a0andNathaniel Carroll,\u00a0Anna\u00a0and\u00a0Laura Culver,\u00a0Virginia Culver,\u00a0Kaitlyn Fitch,Kennedy Rose Kapp,\u00a0Weston Kelley,\u00a0Shaylee Kiger,\u00a0Katie Livingston,\u00a0Kyle Long,\u00a0Kassi March,\u00a0Kourtney\u00a0and\u00a0Kylie Mazurowski,\u00a0Jakob Payne, Ben,\u00a0Brocand\u00a0McCaylia Plungis,\u00a0Bella Raux,\u00a0Abigail Reed,\u00a0Bennett Schoonover,\u00a0 Madesen\u00a0and\u00a0Denten Spellman.<\/p>\n<p>The following 4-H members will be going on to the District 4-H Public Presentations, on\u00a0April 11\u00a0in Oneida County, are Juniors (8-12)\u00a0Bo\u00a0Alesia,\u00a0Laura Culver\u00a0andAbigail Reed. \u00a0Seniors (13-19)\u00a0Jordynn Alesia,\u00a0Alexandria Burger,\u00a0McCaylia Plungis\u00a0and\u00a0Bella Raux.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Pictured is Laura Culver 4-H member of the 4-H Foxy Trotters 4-H club doing a \u00a0cooking demonstration on Swedish Brownies.
