(Cazenovia, NY \u2013 April 2015)\u00a0Cazenovia College\u2019s spring production, \u201cInto the Woods,\u201d will run\u00a0April 24 to 26\u00a0and\u00a0May 1 to 3 at The Catherine Cummings Theatre in Cazenovia.<\/p>\n

Friday and\u00a0Saturday\u00a0performances will be held at\u00a08 p.m., and\u00a0Sunday\u00a0matinees will open at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cInto the Woods\u201d is a contemporary musical loosely based on some of\u00a0Grimms’ Fairy Tales\u00a0with an original tale mixed in.\u00a0 The first act intertwines the stories of\u00a0Cinderella,\u00a0Jack and the Bean Stalk,\u00a0Rapunzel, and\u00a0The Baker and His Wife, describing how they get what they wish for.\u00a0 Act two is an exploration of what can happen when you get what you wish.<\/p>\n

David Lowenstein, Cazenovia College\u2019s artist in residence, will direct the cast made up of Cazenovia College students, members from the Cazenovia community, and the Syracuse theater community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe show opened on Broadway in the 1980s and was a big hit.\u00a0 It has been made popular again with the release of a major motion picture version this past holiday season,\u201d says Lowenstein. \u201cI look forward to having a large cast of students and community singer\/actors tackle this musically challenging and sophisticated material.\u201d<\/p>\n

Admission is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors; $10 for children age 12 and under; and $3 for Cazenovia College students.<\/p>\n

The Catherine Cummings Theatre at Cazenovia College is located at 16 Lincklaen Street in Cazenovia.<\/p>\n
