\"Earlville<\/a>(Earlville, NY \u2013 April 2015) Legendary Cajun band\u00a0BeauSoleil, fiery bluegrass group the\u00a0Steep Canyon Rangers, country rock greats\u00a0Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen, bluegrass icon\u00a0Peter Rowan, and masterful rock songster\u00a0John Sebastian\u00a0are just some of the acts destined to be a part of the Earlville Opera House\u2019s 44th season\u2014 one that features the exceptional talents of many rock and roll pioneers! The season kicks off the first weekend in May, with lively fusion of New Orleans Blues with bluegrass instrumentation in\u00a0Roosevelt Dime, and a\u00a0Sunday\u00a0matinee with local a cappella group\u00a0The Blue Parsley Boys.<\/p>\n

Nearly every weekend, the EOH opens its doors, welcoming music lovers and the community at large in for world-class entertainment. August will bring the dynamic guitar, mandolin, and banjo work of\u00a0Chris Hillman\u00a0&\u00a0Herb Pedersen, two greats who\u2019ve played alongside everyone from Roger McGuinn to Neil Young. Save Aug. 14\u00a0on your calendar if that sounds like your cup of tea. This year, roots-rock fans should get ready to jam with\u00a0John Sebastian(of the Lovin\u2019 Spoonful) and\u00a0David Grisman\u00a0(of Old & In the Way) when they bring their masterful front porch pickin\u2019 to EOH on\u00a0Oct. 2.<\/p>\n

This season,\u00a0bluegrass lovers\u00a0can look forward to the\u00a0Steep Canyon Rangers, who gained notoriety both for their award-winning pickin’ and for playing with Steve Martin. Another Grammy-winner\u00a0Peter Rowan,\u00a0a former member of Bill Monroe\u2019s Bluegrass Boys and Old & In the Way plays in September. Rowan blends folk and bluegrass with smoldering guitar breakdowns, and his show is sure to be a treat. String bands lovers should also check out season opener\u00a0Roosevelt Dime.\u00a0They sound like something straight out of 1920s jug band hoe-down.<\/p>\n

Fans of more worldly styles will want to check out the\u00a0Brazilian-folk band Matuto\u00a0in May with their lively sound \u201ca Brazilian carnival in the Appalachian mountains.\u201d\u00a0The Duhks, a powerhouse of neo-Celtic-Cajun spirit and soul, featuring powerful vocalist Jessee Havey, a gifted performer audiences will be talking about for the rest of the summer.\u00a0 Irish traditionalists FullSet\u00a0follow on Aug. 8, and after that, be sure to bring your dancin\u2019 shoes for legendary\u00a0Cajun fusion group BeauSoleil\u00a0on Aug. 21.<\/p>\n

Blues-wise, the Opera House is pleased to be welcoming\u00a0Martha Redbone, who blends elements of\u00a0soul, R&B,\u00a0and even\u00a0funk\u00a0with her\u00a0Appalachian and Native American heritage\u00a0on June 13.\u00a0Eilen Jewell\u00a0makes her return to EOH on Sept. 12, bringing a taste of her latest release,\u00a0Sundown Over Ghost Town, which drops May 26. Jewell\u2019s aching, smoky vocals blend beautifully with her sweetly melancholy original songs.<\/p>\n

Fans of theatrical performances can look forward to\u00a0Putting it All Together, a musical tribute to some of\u00a0Steven Sondheim\u2019s best-loved songs, which will run during the weekend of July 2 to 26. Apart from live musical events, EOH\u2019s season will be filled with lively gallery openings, creative and informative workshops, and family-friendly events like our EOH Circus, which runs July 27 to 31.
