\"Jon<\/a>(Canastota, NY \u2013 May 2015) The International Boxing Hall of Fame recently announced Jon Seda, star of the hit NBC drama\u00a0Chicago P.D.\u00a0has been named Grand Marshal of the 2015 Boxing Hall of Fame Parade of Champions scheduled for\u00a0Sunday, June 14 at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Hall of Fame is thrilled that such an accomplished actor as Jon Seda will serve as the 2015 grand marshal,\u201d said Hall of Fame Executive Director Edward Brophy. \u201cIt will be an exciting day in Canastota when the\u00a0Chicago P.D.\u00a0star leads the Parade of Champions through \u2018Boxing\u2019s Hometown.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

A New Jersey native, Seda is a former amateur boxer (21-1) and was runner up in the 1989 NJ Golden Gloves. He hung up the gloves after being cast as a fighter in the 1992 film Gladiator. His career has flourished ever since, earning critical acclaim for roles in films Carlito\u2019s Way,\u00a0Twelve Monkeys,\u00a0The Sunchaser\u00a0and\u00a0Selena;\u00a0television programs\u00a0Chicago Fire,\u00a0Ghost Whisperer,\u00a0Oz, Treme,\u00a0Hawaii Five-O,\u00a0The Closer,\u00a0Burn Notice,\u00a0House,\u00a0Law & Order\u00a0and 2010\u2019s Emmy Award-winning HBO World War II miniseries\u00a0The Pacific.<\/p>\n

Seda currently stars as Detective Antonio Dawson on the hit NBC drama\u00a0Chicago P.D.<\/p>\n

“Words can’t express how humbled and\u00a0honored I am in being named the Grand Marshal of this year\u2019s Boxing Hall of Fame! These men are warriors, who from their first fight to their last, stepped\u00a0into the ring with\u00a0passion and confidence, and no matter what the outcome, they walked away knowing they gave everything they had!” said Seda.<\/p>\n

The Parade of Champions, set for\u00a0Sunday, June 14\u00a0at 1 p.m., will pass through the streets of Canastota and lead to the grounds of the Hall of Fame Museum prior to the start of the Official Induction Ceremony honoring the new class of inductees.<\/p>\n

More than 40 boxing stars from the United States and abroad, including\u00a0\u201cThe Raging Bull\u201d Jake LaMotta,\u00a0Nino Benvenuti,\u00a0Michael Spinks,\u00a0\u201cIrish\u201d Micky Ward,\u00a0William Joppy,\u00a0Ray Mercer, George Chuvalo,\u00a0Peter Manfredo Jr.,\u00a0Pipino Cuevas,\u00a0Ruben Olivares, Buddy McGirt, Aaron \u201cThe Hawk\u201d Pryor,\u00a0Carlos Palomino,\u00a0Winky Wright\u00a0and\u00a0Sergio Martinez, will be highlighted in the Parade of Champions.<\/p>\n

“With the lineup of marching bands, boxing celebrities, community organizations and now Jon Seda, this should be our biggest parade ever and an unforgettable day for all,” said parade chairperson Charlene Barres.<\/p>\n
