This run was a sanctioned race with USA Track &amp; Field.<\/p>\n<p>Winners for medals in the Children\/Teen category were Ben Parfitt, 1st place; Lauren Laruffa, 2nd\u00a0place and Lucas Smith, 3rd\u00a0place.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>1st, 2nd, and 3rd\u00a0place medal winners for the Women\u2019s Category were Lauren Laruffa, Kelsey Bush and Elizabeth Fish.<\/p>\n<p>1st, 2nd\u00a0and 3rd\u00a0place winners for Men\u2019s Category were Ben Parfitt, Ken Belanger and Eric Lindley.<\/p>\n<p>The first 50 registrants received a T Shirt, courtesy of Screen It and COVE of Colgate University. Walkers received a walker\u2019s pin for completing the course and a $100 gift certificate to the Hamilton Eatery was awarded for the best outfits\/costumes to Donna Wicks and family who walked with their dog.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150502_111735.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-61648\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150502_111735.jpg\" alt=\"20150502_111735\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150502_111735.jpg 400w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150502_111735-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/20150502_111735-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0The start was at Gate 7 on Airport Road going north on an abandoned railroad bed to Woodman Road and then onto the Chenango Canal Towpath Trail back towards the airport. The 5k run continued south on the west side of the airport along the newest part of the trail just completed by Randy Weaver\u2019s crew from \u00a0the Hamilton Department of Public Works.<\/p>\n<p>The trail is scenic, passing by the Chenango Canal, Woodman Pond and Secret Lake and winding through a wooded area. The trail was recently revamped due to the new security fence installed around the runway. More improvements on the trail will come as the crew gets time.
