{"id":61825,"date":"2015-05-17T12:00:50","date_gmt":"2015-05-17T16:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=61825"},"modified":"2015-05-16T13:20:14","modified_gmt":"2015-05-16T17:20:14","slug":"deadline-to-apply-for-disaster-loans-is-may-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=61825","title":{"rendered":"Deadline to Apply for Disaster Loans is May 26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Hanna-for-web.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-41286\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Hanna-for-web.jpg?resize=226%2C216\" alt=\"Hanna for web\" width=\"226\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Hanna-for-web.jpg?w=226&amp;ssl=1 226w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Hanna-for-web.jpg?resize=150%2C143&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/a>(Madison County, NY \u2013 May 2015) U.S. Representative Richard Hanna\u00a0reminds small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and private nonprofit organizations that a deadline to apply for disaster loans is rapidly approaching.<\/p>\n<p>Groups located in New York that experienced damages as a result of excessive rain, flooding, high winds and hail from\u00a0April 1 through July 8, 2014\u00a0have until\u00a0May 26, 2015\u00a0to apply for a working capital disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).<\/p>\n<p>The SBA\u2019s disaster declaration includes the following counties in New York\u2019s 22nd Congressional District: Cortland,\u00a0Herkimer,\u00a0Madison,\u00a0Oneida,\u00a0Oswego, and\u00a0Tioga.<\/p>\n<p>Under this declaration, the SBA\u2019s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is available to eligible\u00a0farm-related and nonfarm-related entities that suffered financial losses as a direct result of this disaster.\u00a0With the exception of aquaculture enterprises, SBA cannot provide disaster loans to agricultural producers, farmers or ranchers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Many small businesses in Central New York and the Southern Tier suffered damages from extreme weather between April and July last year,\u201d\u00a0Rep. Hanna said.\u00a0\u201cLoans like these from the Small Business Administration can help recover and recoup such substantial losses related to this severe weather. I am pleased that federal funds are available to further assist our small businesses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The loan amount can be up to $2 million with interest rates of 2.625 percent for private nonprofit organizations and 4 percent for small businesses, with terms up to 30 years. The SBA determines eligibility based on the size of the applicant, type of activity and its financial resources. Loan amounts and terms are set by the SBA and are based on each applicant\u2019s financial condition. These working capital loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills that could have been paid had the disaster not occurred.\u00a0 The loans are not intended to replace lost sales or profits.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA\u2019s secure website at <a href=\"https:\/\/disasterloan.sba.gov\/ela\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/disasterloan.sba.gov\/ela<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Disaster loan information and application forms may also be obtained by calling the SBA\u2019s Customer Service Center at\u00a0800-659-2955\u00a0(800-877-8339\u00a0for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.<\/p>\n<p>Loan applications can be downloaded from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sba.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.sba.gov\/disaster<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Completed applications should be mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX\u00a0 76155.<\/p>\n<p>Completed loan applications must be returned to SBA no later than\u00a0May 26, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Madison County, NY \u2013 May 2015) U.S. Representative Richard Hanna\u00a0reminds small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and private nonprofit organizations that a deadline to apply for disaster loans is rapidly approaching.
